- Information you provide. If you subscribe to Baller Basics updates, we collect your email address and subscription preferences through Mailchimp. If you email us for industry access or another request, we receive the information you include, such as your name, email address, company, role, and message.
- Industry Room information. If you are invited to the private Industry Room, we may keep your email address, professional affiliation, access status, and related correspondence. OpenAI and ChatGPT may process account, sign-in, device, and activity information when providing authentication and access to the invitation-only Industry Room.
- Website activity. Google Analytics collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, referral source, and interactions with the site. This information may be associated with cookies or similar identifiers.
- Technical information. Our hosting and security providers may receive IP address, request logs, device information, and similar data needed to deliver and protect the site.
How we use information
We use information to operate and secure the site; understand which pages and content are useful; respond to messages; provide requested updates; review and administer Industry Room access; protect confidential materials; troubleshoot problems; and comply with legal obligations.
Cookies and analytics
Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to measure site use. You can limit cookies through your browser settings and can use Google's opt-out tools or account privacy controls. Blocking cookies may affect some site features.
When information is shared
We may share information with service providers that help us host, secure, analyze, and operate the site or communicate with you. These may include OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare for site delivery, OpenAI and ChatGPT for Industry Room authentication and access, Google for analytics, and our email providers. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer. We do not sell personal information for money.
Email updates
Mailchimp processes Baller Basics subscriptions and delivers our email updates. Signing up on the book page identifies your interest in Baller Basics. You can unsubscribe using the link in each marketing email. We measure form submissions and successful responses in Google Analytics without sending your email address or name to Analytics.
Industry Room confidentiality
Access to the Industry Room is limited to approved viewers. We use professional contact and access information to decide who may enter and to maintain the room's confidentiality. An invitation does not authorize a viewer to copy, distribute, or disclose confidential materials.
External services and links
The site links to services such as Instagram, YouTube, JillMunroe.com, and email applications. Those services control their own privacy practices. If you follow a link or interact with embedded or linked content, review that provider's policy.
Retention and security
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including maintaining access records, responding to requests, protecting our work, and meeting legal obligations. We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and privacy rights
You may ask to access, correct, or delete information you provided, withdraw from launch updates, or request removal from the Industry Room. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, including rights to know, delete, correct, or opt out of certain processing. We will honor applicable requests subject to identity verification and legal exceptions.
Children
The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided information, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site or our practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision.
